This 100% cotton placemat is handwoven on a back-strap loom by master weavers in Nagaland. These are contemporary yet distinctive tribal designs using a warp faced weaving technique and supplemental weft work. These pieces work beautifully as a table runner, a feature at the end of a bed, or displayed as a wall hanging.

Nagaland is a mountainous state in the North Eastern region of Indian and is bordered by the Indian state of Assam and the country of Myanmar. It is home to 16 hill tribes who weave their distinctive patterns and motifs on back-strap looms.
