Thickeners

Guar Gum is a natural thickener derived from Guar beans. It is a good thickener for acid dyes and for mordants used in natural dying processes (block printing and screen printing). It is an excellent thickener for devore paste.

Gum Arabic is an excellent thickener and binder for many natural dyes, synthetic dyes, paints and pigments.

Gum Tragacanth is a natural thickening agent (polysaccharide) obtained from the sap of Iranian locoweed (Astragalus). It is excellent for thickening natural dyes for handpainting. It is also the best thickener for vat dyes.

Monogum is a modified starch gum. The only thickener for discharge printing with hypochlorite bleach that stays thick.

P4 Thickener is also called Locust Bean Gum. A natural thickener used in devore paste and other dye recipes.

Sodium Alginate is a seaweed based thickener for dyes - for handpainting, silkscreen, block printing and stencilling.
