iDye - Black #431

iDye for Natural Fabrics comes in a dissolvable packet, so there are never any messy powders to handle: simply dissolve the packet in the dye bath or drop it in the washer, then add the fabric. iDye is a hot water dye that produces brilliant colours on any natural fabric and may be used on the stovetop or in the washing machine.

*Supplemental Instructions for Black iDye*

- Achieve deeper shades by raising the pH of the dye bath. Add 1/2 tsp of soda ash or 1/4 cup of baking soda.  Never use vinegar or acid with black idye, even when dyeing silk - instead use the combination of 1/2 cup salt & 1/2 tsp soda ash. 

- Adding 1/2 cup of salt yields an even deeper colour; however, it must be used in conjunction with the soda ash or baking soda.  Adding salt alone will result in a warmer, more brownish-black colour and is therefore not recommended. 

- You must bring temperature up to 180 degrees ferenheight.  Sometimes dye may require more time.
