Vintage Kantha Quilt - Meadow

Fields of colour and brilliant patchwork all covered with tight running stitches.

Kantha quilts are made for household use in rural parts of Bengal and Bangladesh. Favourite prints, saris, and beloved lengths of cloth are stitched together with plain and coloured threads. Every quilter has her own individual style. These quilts are used as bedcovers, blankets, tablecloths, picnic blankets, car blankets, couch blankets ... there is no limit to the utility of these textiles. We love the history and stories each one holds.

Note: This is a one of a kind, hand stitched heavyweight vintage quilt. Variegations and imperfections are a part of its charm and are to be celebrated.

Care Instructions: Your textile can be gently machined or hand washed with cool water. To protect the fabric you absolutely must use a pH neutral liquid detergent. Wash with similar colours. Immediately hang to dry or tumble dry on medium heat. 

Recommended detergents: Ecos, Eucalan, Tru Earth or a mild liquid detergent no higher than pH 7
