Shimoga Shirt - Malkha Cotton - Summer Indigo

$265.00

The perfect oversized shirt. The versatility of wearing it open or closed makes it a great layering piece and a Maiwa favourite. The Shimoga Shirt stays true to what we believe about timeless sustainable design; it's easily worn year round.

Malkha cloth represents a different way of making textiles. Created through a network of cotton farmers, spinners, and handweavers in South India, the fabric is the result of a production system where every stage is connected.

The yarn is developed specifically for handloom weaving, allowing the cloth to retain a lively texture and supple hand. Rather than striving for uniformity, Malkha embraces the qualities of cotton and the subtle variations that come from human hands.

The result is a cloth with remarkable depth and character—one that reflects not only the skill of its makers, but also a commitment to regional livelihoods, sustainable production, and the enduring beauty of handwoven cotton. The richly textured surface celebrates the natural variation of the yarn, creating a fabric that is tactile and full of life!
