Synthetic Indigo

Synthetic indigo comes in a fine powder that is about 95% indigotin pigment. This is a much higher concentration of indigotin than occurrs in natural indigo. This makes synthetic indigo less expensive and easier to use. Synthetic indigo yields consistent predictable results.

There are many recipes to make an Indigo Vat. One of our favourites uses lye and thiourea dioxide. Full instructions can be found in our Indigo Datasheet.
