Wool Corriedale Roving - Aubergine 100g

$12.95

Corriedale wool has a defined, even crimp and is smooth and easy to spin or felt. The fiber diameter is 27- 30 micron and the staple length is 11cm (4¼").

You can spin a fine to medium woolen, worsted, or semi-worsted yarn. Corriedale will bulk after washing and has good elasticity. It is ideal for baby wear, woven, knitted, crocheted, or felted garments.

Ashford wool sliver is 100% pure New Zealand wool. Their wool is grown on sheep farms in the South Island of New Zealand where the sheep graze on large grassy paddocks and are free from mulesing. They only use wool with a good length that is free from breaks, has high bulk, brightness, low vegetable matter, and is the correct micron. The wool is washed using a standard aqueous treatment with eco-friendly biodegradable detergent. Ashford has their very own woollen mill in Milton and can ensure every process is to the highest standard. We start by dyeing the wool using ecologically safe Oeko-Tex compliant dyes, then steam dry, card, gill, comb and finally wind into bumps. The sliver is then ready to use with no waste or preparation.
