Quilted Botanical Coat - Handwoven Kala Cotton - Ikat Indigo & Natural

A Maiwa classic! Insulating and exceptional, this coat will keep you warm and cozy in all seasons. Made of quilted fabric - cotton flannel in between two layers of handwoven cotton cloth. A Maiwa piece that you'll reach for over and over again. 

Sewn from exquisite artisan cloth; thread dyed with natural dyes and handwoven by village artisans in India. This piece features a woven ikat design - a technical thread tie and dye technique.

Made with our favourite Kala cotton which is indigenous to Kachchh, India. It is highly sustainable and organic by nature, as farmers do not need to use any pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. All it needs to thrive is one monsoon a year. The final product is a desirable cotton with a natural fleck that softens with every wash.

Note: Indigo is a friendly dye and likes to share its colour. You can expect some colour to rub off on your skin or other clothing for the first part of this garments life.  

Care Instructions: Your garment can be gently machined or hand washed with cool water. To protect the natural dyes and natural fabric you absolutely must use a pH neutral liquid detergent. Wash with similar colours. Immediately hang to dry.

Recommended detergents: Ecos, Eucalan, Tru Earth or a mild liquid detergent no higher than pH 7

- Tru Earth must dissolve completely in water before adding garments to wash
