Makai Jacket - Vintage Kantha - Ancient Text

An elegant jacket with a straight cut, standing collar and one covered button closure at the collarbone. Side vents at the hip and inseam pockets complete this piece.

This jacket is made from a beautiful kantha quilt. Favourite prints, saris, and beloved lengths of cloth are stitched together with plain and coloured threads. Every quilter has her own individual style.  We love the history and stories each one holds.

Note: This is a one of a kind piece, hand stitched with medium weight vintage fabric. Variegations and imperfections are a part of its charm and are to be celebrated.

A Note on Fit:

• Generous fit

One size:  Up to 48" around the body / length 28" measured from shoulder seam to hem / 9.5" side vents.

Model: Oribu is 5’ 7” bust: 36”, waist: 30”, hip: 38”.

Model: Sacha is 5' 11" bust: 33", waist: 29", hip: 39".

Care Instructions: Your textile can be gently machined or hand washed with cool water. To protect the fabric you absolutely must use a pH neutral liquid detergent. Wash with similar colours.  Immediately hang to dry or tumble dry on medium heat. 

Recommended detergents: Ecos, Eucalan, Tru Earth or a mild liquid detergent no higher than pH 7

- Tru Earth must dissolve completely in water before adding garments to wash
