Ahilya Tank - Handspun Handwoven Kala Cotton - Cloud

A slightly cropped tank with a wide shoulder and a feminine neckline. Made from cloth that is as meaningful as it is beautiful; handspun and handwoven kala cotton cloth. This classic basic is one that you will reach for again and again.

Cloth handwoven from handspun threads had a central role to play in countering the displacement of family life that took place during industrialization and British colonization in India. It embodies an idea of cultural self-sufficiency with deep roots in Indian identity.

Kala cotton is an “old world” indigenous cotton which is adapted to low water requirements and extremely arid conditions. It is ecologically sustainable and makes the most exquisite cotton cloth.

A Note on Fit:

• Fits a little on the smaller side.
• Slightly boxy fit. 
  

Small: bust up to 38” / length 19” from shoulder seam to hem.

Medium: bust up to 42” / length 20” from shoulder seam to hem.

Large: bust up to 46” / length 21” from shoulder seam to hem.

Model: Kaylah is 5’9” bust: 36”, waist 30”, hip 41” wearing a size small. 

Care Instructions: Hand wash only in cool water. To protect the natural dyes and natural fabric you absolutely must use a pH neutral liquid detergent. Roll in a towel to remove excess moisture and hang to dry.

Recommended detergents: Ecos, Eucalan, Tru Earth or a mild liquid detergent no higher than pH 7

- Tru Earth must dissolve completely in water before adding garments to wash
