A fine hand-woven shawl from master weavers in the Kachchh desert of India. It is patterned with the distinctive tie-resist method known as bandhani. Artisans pinch a small portion of cloth and then tightly hand-tie the peak with thread. The tight threads resist the dye when the piece is immersed in a dyebath.
