Brooklyn Tweed Wool Yarn - Quarry Chunky - Flint

$28.95

Quarry is a chunky sibling to Shelter and Loft, inspired by roving-style “unspun” yarns and offered in pillowy 100-gram skeins. Three strands of the same lofty, woolen-spun Targhee-Columbia fleece are gently spun together into a plump yarn that looks like a single ply and has greater tensile strength and stitch definition than a true unspun yarn. Quarry loves to cable and beautifully renders all kinds of textural stitch work. We think it’s ideal for sweaters, coats, blankets, and cozy accessories. Developed, sourced, processed, spun and dyed in the USA.

TARGHEE-COLUMBIA WOOL CHARACTERISTICSThe Targhee-Columbia breed combines the softness and elasticity of finewool Targhee with the robust substance and warmth of mediumwool Columbia. This versatile mingling of wearability and durability makes Targhee-Columbia suitable for next-to-skin wear, outerwear, or heirloom pieces for the home. We source this breed for Shelter, Loft, and Quarry; the woolen construction of these yarns further enhance the fleece’s lofty and warmth-trapping characteristics.

Care: Wet-blocking

    1. Fill a sink or basin with warm water and submerge the fabric in water, gently squeezing out any air bubbles so that the piece can remain under water without being held there.
    2. Soak work for 20-30 minutes, allowing fabric to become completely saturated.
    3. Remove excess moisture by rolling your fabric between clean, dry towels with light pressure.
    4. Lay fabric flat and shape to air dry.
