Ecobutterfly yarns are made with organic Pakucho cotton which supports the supply chain from the native plantation farmers to the conscious crafter. Organic Color Grown Pakucho Cotton is grown naturally in Peru. Pakucho meant brown cotton in ancient Inca. Today, native~spun Pakucho cotton is grown in natural, cream, beige, brown, avocado and mauve shades. No pesticides, herbicides or other agri-chemicals are used to grow or colour these yarns. All harvesting and colour sorting is done by hand.

Pakucho Organic Cotton is 100% GOTS certified at the source. Organic production systems replenish and maintain soil fertility, reduce the use of toxic and persistent pesticides and fertilizers, and build biologically diverse agriculture. Naturtex is a Fair Trade certified company & that means living wages for the artisans that make their yarns.

 Pakucho cotton is never mercerized and knits up ultra soft & light

CARE:

 Hand or machine wash gentle in a lingerie bag, cool water, gentle soap. Lay flat to dry. Machine dry will shrink 10-15% in length once if heat is applied
 All the colours will darken when washed in very hot water and machine dried to some degree.
 Heat is what changes the colour. If you would like to keep the colour the same we would suggest washing your items in cool water with gentle biodegradable soap. Then lay them out flat to dry. Do not put the yarn in the sun for prolonged periods of time or the colour will fade over time, specifically the colour grown green shades.
