This lightweight and flowing Khadi Cotton shawl, naturally dyed in indigo, has been finely handwoven by village artisans in Bengal in collaboration with Maiwa. Featuring embellished designs (Jamdani) set into the scarf with gold plated thread, giving it an elegant hint of metallic shimmer.
Khadi is a type of cloth made entirely by hand, no power looms or industrial machinery is used. But khadi is so much more than simply a beautiful handmade cloth. It is an idea of cultural cultural self-sufficiency with deep roots in the Indian identity.
Process: Khadi (handspun & handwoven) cotton with Jamdani embellishment. Jamdani is a traditional method creating pattern using a supplementary weft.
Fibre: 75% Khadi Cotton , 25% Zari (gold plated thread)
