V&A Magazine: Block Printing and The Fabric of India
Tim McLaughlin and Charllotte Kwon have contributed a feature article to V&A Magazine's special issue on the Fabric of India.
It is available in the Maiwa Online Store. Ordinarily the magazine is available in the V&A gift shop or to V&A members or subscribers. But we have ordered a number of copies for the Maiwa Online store. We also have placed some in our retail stores on Granville Island.
The feature describes the richness of hand block print traditions in three locations and ties them into the resistance to industrial production methods that characterized India's response to the British Raj.
Full information on this issue can be found on the V&A Magazine website. UK residents may wish to purchase copies from the V&A Shop.
Charllotte and Tim have recently visited the Fabric of India exhibition and will be posting a review on the Maiwa Blog soon.
